Out of the two articles that I read the first one by Jennifer Clark “Technology, busy lifestyles to passive students; some think apathy is dangerous to society.” Also the second on by Derek Buck, “ Where’s Our Outrage.” I article by Clark has a lot of information and talks about how the youth is apathetic to politics and problems happening around the world. She uses the word apathy a lot through out the article. Clark basically explains the meaning of the word apathy. Her article wasn’t very interesting and didn’t catch my attention, but she makes a lot of good points. Unlike Buck that uses examples that we students can comprehend with. He goes about going to the students to get his information, instead of just putting a bunch of information together. That’s a reason why I think the youth is not interested in what’s going on in the world. We don’t want to hear a bunch of information that we don’t care about. When Buck goes out and takes the time to ask the students to get his information that catches our attention and then we get into it more. Then just reading an article on something that we don’t care about. This is basically what he is talking about being apathetic, not caring because we have no interest in it.

Nice way to explain you opinion in this blog. I agree fully with you, that Jennifer Clark’s article didn’t catch my eye. It had a lot of facts but it was really not interest it was just a lot of data put together to make something. You did not use much detail in your response so if i have never read this article i would have not clue what your trying to talk about. The article of buck he did you a lot of student feedback which i thought was good. I am sure that he couldn’t get accurate information if he did it just from his own research. By asking actual students then it would get accurate feedback to put in his article. The was nothing in your blog about the response. If you would have mention something about that then it could brought a little more light to your blog. It was very down to earth might I say and easy to relate to. I think from reading your blog you could have related to it in a way. How you expressed your opinion in the begining could have countered some of your thought. Anyways overall it was well but could have had a little more spice.
